It's Graduation Time!!!!

CONGRATS TO ALL THE GRADS!!!!!! This cake was made for some great kids graduating from 8th Grade at my old school Sacred Heart. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate ganache filling, mmmmmmmmm, covered in buttercream. The graduation cap and tassle is made from fondant and the little graduates were handcrafted from fondant covered cake pops. The mini grads were made to resemble the real ones!!!

Great Job guys!!!! Keep up the good work! GO JAGUARS!!!!!

A Trio of t Tiny Triple Tiers!!!!!

I had lots of fun with these cakes!!! A client wanted 3 Birthday cakes for 3 children in the family with birthdays same week. She requested for each child a 3 tired cake, but MINI version!!! I was up for the challenge!! The cakes are a mix of chocolate and yellow cake layers with buttercream filling. They are all covered with fondant.

The first one was inspired by Mickey Mouse. I covered the layers in Mickey colors and added a couple of fondant buttons and a handcrafted Micky face for the top!!

Next I made one inspired by the Jonas Brothers. Now I don't have teenage girls, so I dont get a lot of Jonas exposure. What I did find was they like the white shades and jackets, plus other crazy prints. I added tiger stripes to the bottom layer, music notes, and a handpainted guitar at the top. Rock on dude!!

Last but not least, A wonderful girlie cake inspired by Tinkerbell!!! The cake is covered with flowers and butterflies sprinkle in magic sparkles. It is topped with a handcrafted flower Fairy crown.

Big Froggy Thank you!!!

This is another Teacher Appreciation cake. Mrs. Mckinney LOVES frogs, so it was only fitting to thank her with a lily pad pond cake with a sculpted frog sitting on it. The flowers is also handmade. The cake is a light chocolate cake with marshmallow filling. It was her first Froggy cake and she loved it! Thank you Mrs. McKinney, your the best!!

Yeah for Teachers!!!!

To celebrate Teacher appreciation week I made this cake for my sons pre-k class. The cake is a polka dotted cake (mini candy pieces dot the inside of the cake) with vanilla buttercream. The cake is surrounded with 10 fondant kids to match the children in the class. I toppped it with fondant letters with a special message. Thank you Ms. Timberlake, Ms. Laird, and Ms. Mossie!! We love you!!♥♥♥

Birthday Surprise

This cake was made for a surprise birthday. It is a dark chocolate cake with chocolate chunks, surrounded with cafe au lait buttercream. The roses, bows and pearls are all handmade with fondant.

Pink Roses

This was a fun cake. Dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. Decorated with chocolate and pink icing roses and pink polka dots. This will make your girl weak in the knees.

Easter Goodies

Time for Easter treats for the kids at school!! For the younger crowd I made yellow chick and white lamb cupcakes. These are fun to decorate and the kids love the little marshmallos on the lambs.

For the more mature Easter treat :) , Pineapple smoothie cupcakes are covered with green Frosting "grass" and nestled in are mini jelly bean "eggs". These eggs wont be hard to find !!!

Yellow Roses

This cake was just a "Have a Happy day" cake. It is a lemon butter cake with an lemon curd filling. The cake is wrapped in Fondant and decorated with a fondant bow and handmade fondant roses. Sure to brighten your day :D

Winter Sweets

I know its about 80+ degrees outside, but I was rememebering some holiday sweets I made for some special Holiday parties. There are two flavors. the first is a chocolate cake with a white chocolate peppermint frosting sprinkled with crushed candy canes and red sprinkle.

The other flavor is Tres Leche Snowballs. I made a coconut cake and loaded it with a tres leche mix that is sooooo good!! The little moist cakes are topped with a swirl of coconut cream frosting and then rolled in shredded coconut. These were so good, they almost never made it out the door. The left over "Tres Leche" is a wonderful add in to a cup of hot chocolate!! Hey you need something to warm you up after eating a "snowball" :D

More sweets from the kitchen

Time to catch up my posts of some cakes that I have been busy with. This one is designed for Alice in Wonderland. Sugar flowers , including red roses, surround the Handmade Queen of Hearts card and lead you down to magic pathways. Its a RED velvet cake...of course! :D
